MD5 Win Verifier

One thing that put me off is as soon as I clicked the link it tried to install. I'd like to read something, then decide myself if I want to install the software.

Is this typical of Apps? I don't know. I'm a desktop kind of guy. :)

I'm afraid of that... I think that opening it in Windows 8 it will open the store app... I tried some minutes ago after reading your reply and it opens the store app but doesn't force me to install, I'm only been redirected to my app screen into the store and i could navigate screenshots. You probably saw the store app opening and so you tought the link forced you to install...

I just submitted an update that allows to verify SHA256 chesksum too, and it will be online in some days. In the meanwhile if you try it you can suggest me new features you think will be useful for such a kind of app.

I got a message saying to the effect "install failed .. your machine may not meet requirements" or some such. I have 8.0 and it's a Laptop. Don't know if that matters. But I just clicked the link and all that went off.

I got a msg to the effect "install failed.. your machine may not meet requirements" or some such. I have 8.0 on a Laptop. All I did was click the link in the post.

Yes, for now it works on only on 8.1 (the Windows app development framework changed a lot since 8.0) :( . I will make an 8.0/8.1 version as soon as possible. Anyway thanks a lot for trying installing it.

Have a look at HashTab tool to quickly find file hash information for example - it is pretty good.

Submitted the the last version: file compare features added. So now my app allows to:

- verify md5 and sha256 hashes
- generate md5, sha256 hashes
- compare files based on either sha1 or md5 or sha256

after adding all these features i decided to publish it as a paid app but i decided to allow 15 days trial too so if user doesn't like it can avoid buying it
