    I upgraded our home server...

I upgraded our home server to a Q8350 CPU and 8GB of DDR2 RAM. It's not very hefty, but for Windows Home Server 2011 (Windows Server 2008 R2 based), it's plenty!

Very funny! My "workbench" is the washing machine, in the basement. Comes in very handy!!

    That's a labor of commitment! It's fantastic!

If I opened my rig, it would look like a bowl of spaghetti!
My attitude is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

I'd love to have a rig like that, I just don't have the energy!

You rig shows a great amount of time & expertise. I bet you get a lot deserved satisfaction from it.

With that exhaust tube, I bet you could heat the whole house! Or at least run the clothes dryer!

    Congrats!!

That "exhaust tube" is for the dryer. I use the top of the clothes washer as my "workbench" and the dryer vent pipe got into the picture. I keep the wiring neat for ventilation, dust control, and visibility. Most new motherboards ahev LEd readouts on them and if the inside of the case is a mess of wires, you can't see the LED. My LED are completely covered by video cards on my main PC. The server is clean and the 7 hard drives generate a substantial amount of heat and it needs to be clean to promote airflow from the fans...

Cool!! It's below zero (F) here now, so you'll be glad you're not here in Michigan...
