Hi everyone,

So Win 8 didn't really go "smoothly" for me, but I'm there. One of the only things that's completely non functional is my printer.

HP has been unhelpful and pointed me here to find drivers (ain't they grand?) so I figured I might as well ask while I'm here.

Any thoughts on what I might be able to do? I've had a scary run in with Win 8's BSOD and don't want that to happen again! :(

Nick

I have that very printer connected though WIFI to my Router. Windows 8 detected it and added an ICON for it in Devices and Printers, but it didn't work. I think the error was "no drivers installed for this device"? I ran the LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution driver I downloaded from HP and a new working entry for the HP LaserJet Professional P1102w showed up. I just deleted/uninstalled the non working entry. A test page printed OK on it.

Great, I'll test that out. I'm just terrified of the unrepairable BSOD that I got with my Asus AI charger driver... Maybe I'll wait until my crashplan backup is done :)

This means a lot though, that's exactly what I'm going through and I appreciate it greatly!!!

Hi there,
I have similar problem. My old HP Laser Jet P1005 appears in the Printers & Devices of my Windows 8 computer BUT, when I try to print something, it doesn't appear in the Select Printer in the Print menu and sends me an error message which says: The Active Directory Domain Service is currently unavailable. I did try to download the driver but it also doesn't seem to have made a difference. Thanks for any help

I'm using an old(ish) HP Laser network printer and this installed fine using HP's Unified printer drivers.
