I'm having trouble formatting or copying files to my Kingston pen drive. It says the disk is write protected. I tried registry fixes, diskpart etc. Still no success. Please help.

  • OS
    Windows 8.1
Control Panel --> Device Manager --> find usb device ... uh oh, cannot find what I'm looking for.
Using explorer.exe, Windows file manager, with the left side panel listing the visible "drives" and their assigned drive letters, find the usb device,
click on Properties, a grey box opens up...and another uh oh, cannot find what I'm looking for.
What I am looking for, which is not found with every usb device, is the clickbox that either locks or unlocks the, prevents writing/allows writing of, said usb flash drive, thumb drive, etc.
