If memory serves, there is a setting in the Power Options section in the Control Panel, that says something about NOT using WiFi on battery. I think you can set it to 'YES' or 'NO'.
Or, not finding that, set your Power Options to High Performance. Of course, that will drain a battery much quicker, IF you're operating only on battery power. But do that, for a test anyway.

Let us know how you make out.

PS: I currently have several laptops, that connect to the internet via WiFi and I don't have any problems with any of them dropping the net.
If I did, I'd definitely look at signal levels.

thx bro that helped..

I want to ask something. I had a different issue with wifi, when i clicked on TCP/IPV4 in WIFI PROPERTIES it said "You need to have a network card or something to change properties or something like that ". I deleted my wifi driver in DEVICE MANAGER and after reboot it got reinstalled. Now i could enter into TCP/IPv4 properties but i cant edit those five boxes (the ones with ip, default gateway and dns servers).. I fill those boxes and click ok. The next time i enter properties, whatever i wrote is gone. why does this happen? driver issue?
