Buy New Asus laptop, but wifi always no internet access

2 Days ago, i bought new laptop asus x453s, but until this time i can not figure out how to make this new lapton connect to internet. Wifi is connected, but it always 'no internet access':

My spec:
Windows 8.1 64bit
Wireless: Qualcomm Atheros AR956X Wireless Network Adapter

I'm trying to go to device manager, and i see that this driver software is uptodate.
I try disable my windows firewall, unistall avast antivirus and it still says no internet access.
I go to this wireless adapter properties, looking at IPv4 and IPv6, everything is ok, it checked obtain ip address automatically , obtain dns automatically.
I try to uninstall driver from device manager, then install it again, but no success, :'(

I try to ping google.com but the result is could not find host google.com
i try to ping 8.8.8.8 the result is always timeout.

I hate being the broken record.. but seriously? 2 days ago? seriously?

so now you truly better to be able to remember what you installed in the last 2 days? what have you changed/installed..

because when you got home 2 days ago and turned on your computer for the first time in the universe (well asus tested it before it got to your home by the way) I'm sure the internet worked..

However,

1. test wifi with another device.. (phone wifi? Ipad? Iphone? any cell phone that can join your wifi?) (You need to see if your wifi works in general) Do you also have a Ethernet cable you can connect direct to the router and your computer to test?

2. test any other computer if available..

3. answer my question about what you changed/installed in the 2 days.. ha

4. I personally would restore/factory reset your Asus computer and then test your wifi.. You will lose everything you've saved on the computer since 2 days ago.. (downloads, trying to create hotspots on windows.. and photos/movies/ games)


5. your computer is sooo New, that you should right now make a backup / restore of it.. and probably use Macrium, not windows to make a backup image ok..

Yes, i take it from local store here, i brought to my office and then i want to surt internet, i see that many program on this asus is so old, i update firefox to the latest version (firefox 44), and the installed avast free was also out of date, it was 2014, i was afraid if my new laptop not secure when i surfing internet using this old anti virus, so i download avast from another computer.

well after antivirus and my browser latest update, i tried to connect to my wifi, it connected, but the icon was limited , yes, the icon was limited, i see the adapter, it said connected, but no internet access. I thought if was no problem, my be becouse my router was down. But the other computer could connect to router!!

And i knew, i have a problem with this new asus laptop.

PROBLEM: My Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter connected to my Wifi, but no internet access!!

1. This is new Laptop, i have check, uninstall, reinstall latest update of this Qualcomm Atheros AR956x from Asus website. But no luck!
Look, my wifi connected, but no internet access. I have disconect - reconnect - shutdown - restart and so on :'(

2. I ping to google.com, the resut is could not find the host, but when i ping to 8.8.8.8 the result is timeout,

3. I want to know the detail of this connection, i try to using command promt with ipconfig /all to see what happened, and the result is look normal,

4. I tried to see the properties of this Qualcomm and i found that the driver is latest update!!

5. I tried to see the detail on Xirrus Wifi Inpector, and you can see the result below.

6. I tried to use connection test result on Xirrus Wifi inspector, and the all result was always 'lost connection'.

7. I tried using another computer, and i want to know that my asus ip address connected to router, and the result.... my asus connected!!

8. Using another computer, i tried to ping other computer and my asus, the result was..... my asus ping timeout!!

9. I still curious, i click on my Qualcomm properties, go to ipv4 and ipv6, and all of them (IP and DNS) are obtain automatically.

NOW I STILL CONFUSE WHAT HAPPEND WITH THIS NEW LAPTOP????
Does My Qualcomm Hardware not work?? Is it about hardware problem???

this night i have just success install windows 10, i did fresh install, i borrowed my friend's cd, and success install it,
but unfortunately, no luck, wifi connected, but still no internet access,

I use another pc to post in this forum, my another pc can connect easily with my wifi, i'm still curious, what happened with this new asus laptop???

Your "new" asus laptop is not so new..

I think either you installed software that changed settings..

1. you are not telling all the details of what you are doing with the asus "new" laptop.. look at the yellow exclamation marks! !!

and how many wifi adapters and such - you did something and are not telling all details..

for example here is mine..

Does the Asus computer connect and have internet if you join another wireless network.. like Starbucks coffee.. or a friends house internet.. ?

I have solved it, install fresh windows 10 64bit, install all of driver from original cd by asus,
And done,

exactly..

that "fresh Clean" install of windows put back the regular default "working" Network settings..

"settings" that you most likely changed by trying to install Hotspots or VPN or something you aren't giving details.. that's just my guess..

but hey your fixed now right! good..


but you probably also just erased the recovery partition to use Asus Backup now..
