    Trouble seeing drives

    Hello all,

I've just installed win 8.1 on a new motherboard and cpu, previously win 7. I'm trying to get the set up the same as the old having 3 different types of plug in removable drives in the case. So far Win 8.1 will not recognise the drives when plugged in and turned on. I suppose it's has something to do with switching something on in the bios but what.

The drives are plugged into the 8,9and 10 sata ports on the MB.

Would anyone hazard to have a guess as to what the problem may be?

    Thanks in advance

Ok, got it sorted, seemed I had to enable hot plug for those sata slots, happy days.

I have one more problem this time with the set up not recognising two revo drives, one is a revo 3 the other a revo 2, the machine recognises them individually but when plugged in together only the revo 3 shows. Strange, Could it be another Bios thing?

Am I asking for trouble?
I was getting random BSOD's from a driver called US40fs64.sys so I just renamed it to US40fs64.old and things are working OK so far. I can't find any listing of what that driver actually does. Could I hurt my system by renaming it this way? So far, it seems to have helped.
