Solved 3 exclamation marks on Device Manager

Hello,

I just formatted my laptop and today I just picked it up. They fully format my laptop and only install standard software & drivers. Then when I got home, I found 3 exclamation marks on Device Manager. I tried to update the software but it can't be done. Any help is appreciated. Attached is the pic.

That's my laptop page. But I don't know which drivers to download to get rid of my issue. Running Windows 8 now.

For the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller you need the Intel® Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver
You cand find it under Others on the link you placed in your post
If you lucky the other 2 will also update.
If not we will see further.

Is the license they used, the one that matches that came with your laptop, or did theg use their own?

Personally I would not use it, until you get the OEM version of Windows 8.1. Asus should be able to send you a clean copy of Windows 8.1 or 10, without the extra software that they are paid to load on customers systems.

Thank you. Downloading and installing that solved it. It's weird that they didn't install this for me. A lot of it is missing too.

I'm not sure but I think they use their own. My OS when I purchased this laptop from them was 8, then I update it to 8.1. I remember there's a Windows 10 upgrade at my notification bar. Then my laptop has bsod issues so I have to format it. When I got it back, my OS is back to 8 and have 140 pending windows update. I installed all as of yesterday, but no update to make it to 8.1. The Windows 10 upgrade notification that I used to see is now gone. Hmmm

Some of the Intel and older GPU/APU chipsets have been giving problems with 10.

As for the nag being gone. They may have deleted the associated KB's.

Always download your drivers from the Asus support website, before downloading them from say Intel, amd or Realtek. Never download them from some random site.

As for the Android. I side load stuff on my Fire TV, with the Android SDK on my laptop. Linux is a lot easier, because you are doing it from the Terminal. Windows is a little harder, because Microsoft looks at Google as competition.

You have to go into Settings and make sure it is set for MTP.

broe23: I am a serious rookie at all this. The android has the device manager on it using that Fire TV.
What does it mean "with the Android SDK on my laptop". If I downloaded LINUX do I have to remove Windows?

I went to Settings and do not understand setting something for MTP.

If you want to use Linux, you can dual boot. But you need to use the Linux Grub2, to make both OS's work. Windows tends to mess up the MBR, if it handles the boot manager.

There is a SDK for Windows. It is really up to you, which OS you want to use.

Some apps work with the Fire TV, some do not m. Same as with the tablets and phones.

For the MTP, follow the info in the first link. It will walk you through the steps. The second link is so that you can use the Android device on your network to browse shared folders, etc..
