Hi Guys,

Would like to seek your assistance on this matter, I tried opening video files in my Seagate hard disk but it seems that there are some issues:

01) Hard disk lags when clicking on it.
02) All files are in there, but when I open the file it lacks
03) Some files cannot be opened (VLC says bad descriptors)

Tried looking for answers online, it could be some bad sectors or bad descriptors, Am currently doing a CHKDSK. Here is the current report:

Is there anything I need to worry about as the files cannot be played completely? Will a transfer to another hard drive solve this issue? Is there anything I can do to salvage this?

Hard disks can go from unreliable to totally failed without any warning. I had a Seagate 3TB reporting problems one day, and before I could back the files off the drive, it totally failed.

So, once you start getting these failures, you should copy off the files and folders -- while you still can!

Unless you're willing to pay a HUGE sum to have the drive rebuilt by commercial data recovery services (which typically start at $1000 USD), then there is nothing you can do to salvage the drive.
