So I got this brand new computer. And randomly my screen blinks on and off. happends like once a day. sometimes the screen shuts off and I have to restart the computer. just a few days ago it happend alot and I could not get contact with gpu 1 and the screen. I reinstalled the nvidia drivers and that seemed to fix the problem. but now it happend again... Everything works fine tho. Its just annoying. any suggestions?

With a brand new computer, I would find it infuriating, not just annoying. Is the monitor new too?

First, make sure all the cable connections for the monitor are tight to the graphics card and on the back of the monitor. If tight, then swap monitors. If no spare monitor, most modern TVs support computer input. It is best if you can use the same video interface (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, etc.).

If the problem happens on the spare monitor, you know the problem is in the computer. If the spare monitor works fine then the problem is most likely the original monitor.

I note you have "MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB" listed twice above. Are you running with 2 cards?

Thanks for the answer:) Yes, Im now trying to test it on different computer. My main screen is a 144hz, I am now going to test it on a 120hz screen. first think I noticed using the same cable is that the 120hz screen will only go to 60hz. with my 144hz screen it would go to 144hz. Now switching to a dvi cable on the 120hz screen, it will go to 120 hz. so maybe a cable issue? Havent noticed any blinking on the old 120hz screen. But I will have to test it for longer. since this problem can be every 10 minutes and some times once every 24 hours.

Im running 980 ti's in sli, yes.
