my keyboard refresh rate settings seem to change every time i shut my laptop on or off or close or open the lid. i run windows 8 64 bit on a lenovo y50
everytime i turn on my computer or open its lid or something, certain things are slow, like the volume bar, the backspace button, and scrolling through a page. i fix this problem by resetting the repeat rate on my laptop's keyboard by opening control panel > keyboard > ok. but everytime i shut my laptop off or shut the lid, these settings seem to have changed while they dont appear any different when i open the keyboard settings to change them
Still that does not mean anything. There is no setting for control of things like sound, keyboards, etc. that are controlled by the OS to make them faster or slower.
The issue really depends on if your computer may be infected, or what you are trying to do while using. Same with how much RAM installed, available hard drive space.
Repeat delay sets the duration of the pause between pressing the key and when it starts repeating. The speed at which it repeats after that delay is the repeat rate.
They "should" have nothing to do with your volume bar, backspace or scrolling settings. The fact they do does mean something, Just not sure what.
Have you scanned for malware? Do you see any errors in Device Manager?
i have not scanned for malware on my laptop. i am currently downloading clamwin to perform this action. the only device that looks like it has an error in the device manager is on named "unknown device" under "other devices" when clamwin finishes downloading i will detail whether any malware has been found on my laptop
Sorry, but I am at a loss here. My guess is this is a hardware setting somewhere, not Windows. You may need to contact Lenovo tech support unless some one come by here with a solution.
