raising fan threshold

does anybody know how to increase the temp of the cpu before the fan kicks in?
i have just bought a dell venue 11 pro 7130 with a i5 processor. i would love it but there is a big issue that is in the way that really bugs me...the fan comes on at around 57C and is loud! it doesnt take alot of processing to get the cpu up to this heat, sometimes it comes on when i only surfing in chrome.

Probably because you have a bunch of extensions. Dells have always been known as having loud fans.

You are looking at this the wrong way! Your CPU fan is spinning up because the CPU needs the cooling!

57°C is not hot, but it is already quite warm and the fan should be on by now. If you raise the threshold for turning on the fan, your computer may become unstable due to high heat issues resulting in sudden crashes and potentially a corrupt hard drive and lost data.

It is important to note that it is the case's responsibility to provide a sufficient supply of cool air flowing through the case. Is your case interior clean of heat trapping dust? Are your case fans spinning properly?

If the interior is clean of dust, you need to inspect the case to see if it supports additional or larger case fans to increase the flow of cool air through the case. Adding fans is easy - if the case supports it. If not, then you may need to look at a different case.

Note too ambient (your room) temperatures directly affect the CPU temps too.
