I'm getting the above error when trying to install Bluetooth drivers, for both my system's integrated Bluetooth and an external Bluetooth adapter.

It means exactly what the error states. Contact the manufacturer of the device. Most likely their driver and device is not 100% compatible with Windows 8.

But in the log it looks like the driver file can't be copied to C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Is it not a permissions error or something?

After much searching around I solved the issue by copying the respective DriverStore folder from a fresh copy of Windows installation media into my own DriverStore. Installation now works :)
