when connecting HDTV the speakers don't show up in realtek

hi, I connected my Asus N550LF to my HDTV via HDMI but the sound still comes from the laptop speakers, i opened realtek and the HDTV speakers weren't appearing in it, help please

The sound comes from the video card not Realtek when using HDMI. Right click on the sound icon, then play back devices, then select the TV.

Some only serve video out on the HDMI. You have to use a separate cable for audio.

We can close this out now. Make sure you adjust the HDMI settings on the computer, for stuff like Overscan and Picture settings, to allow the picture to look the best on the Flat Screen. Turn off stuff like Movie mode, etc. in Picture settings. They tend to muddy up the picture, or make it look like you are looking through a Screen Door. There is information over at avsforum.com about tv tweaking.
