Advice on Blu Ray Codecs

Good evening.

The computer I'm writing this about is a Windows 7 computer, but I guess this is more of a general computer question.

When I bought my blu ray burner for my pc, it did not come with any software. It won't play Blu Rays, but there way too many codecs to choose from. Any advice on the best ones?

Free is good, but if I have to pay for the codec/program, that's fine as well.

Thanks!

Hello.

I downloaded the program, but I still can't play Blu Rays. Was there something else I was supposed to download as well? (I downloaded 5Kplayer)

Has windows installed the drivers for it? Or better yet have you checked the manufacturers site for them?

Interesting on that DAPlayer webpage, you see DaPlayer in large fonts in several places. Then in a tiny font, it says,
DAPlayer was recently improved and renamed to 5KPlayer.
Then, if you visit 5KPlayer, there is no mention of DAPlayer.

Interesting. One is from WinXDVD and the other is DearMob too, but no mention of affiliation. I never noticed that.

Just to be on the safe side, I double checked my drivers and thy are up to date. It plays DVD's and music just fine, but it won't play blu-rays, even after downloading DaPlayer/5kPlayer.
