Seems no matter what I do, my DVD/CD-ROM constantly disappears. This has been happening off and on for a while.
Things I’ve done to try to resolve this issue….
I even posted the issue in the “Official Gigabyte G1-Sniper-5, M5, B5 owners” thread at overclock.net to see if this is/was a motherboard/BIOS issue but that doesn’t seem to be it.
Any suggestions/help in getting this issue solved would greatly be appreciated. At this point in time it looks like I’ll have to do yet another OS reinstall.
Oh, and system specs are updated and listed. And, no, I’m not overclocking.
Thanks.
Things I’ve done to try to resolve this issue….
- Replaced the CD-ROM drive (thinking that was the issue)
- Reinstalled the OS (Windows 8.1) twice
- Did some Registry tweaks suggested by Microsoft for a disappearing CD drive.
- Replaced the SATA cable
- Checked the power supply cables (a few times)
- BIOS update - currently running the F10 BIOS.
- Switched drive ports thinking is was a port issue
- Reset BIOS (a few times)
