Hi, I recently connected a different monitor to my pc but it only works with VGA, When I connect HDMI cable it acts like there is no cable connected. I got hdmi to work abit but I have to use very low resolution. What could be the cause of this? Monitor is Polaroid TLU-01911C

Thanks

Are the VGA and HDMI connectors both on the motherboard? Asking because they are on my system and I have to go into the BIOS to specifically enable the HDMI connector. That is because there is also a DVI connector, which is enabled by default, and I have to disable that to enable the HDMI connector.

If the connectors are on a video card, you should look in Control Panel, the Display section, and see if you have to enable/disable connectors there.
