I didn't mention anything about Windows 8. There are storage drivers available on Intel.com for Windows 7 which would work fine for 8, as most other drivers do.

This should be what you are looking for: Intel® Driver Update Utility

Maybe not. I don't have any Intel stuff to test, but it may not give you latest drivers based on that it doesn't even know Windows 8 yet. It actually might. I'm just saying there's a chance it doesn't. To be 100% guaranteed, all drivers can be found manually on there.

I installed the windows 7 drivers from Intel and they seem to work as they should.
By the way the Intel driver update utility doesnt support windows 8.
Well everything is working now, both my Intel hd graphics and Intel AHCI driver. :)

No worries, I was just qualifying your answer...

True that, no doubt. You do good stuff around here. :)

lol on another note - I just spent like two hours trying every fix documented on every website on the net on how to get my BITS service started, because it wouldn't. Compared registries with a good machine, ran Microsoft fix its, did some native hope and pray dance (alright, I didn't do this one), re-registered .dlls, copied files out of install.wim, ran sfc command and other things.

Turns out I disabled a service this is not documented to affect BITS in any way: Network List Service

Re-enabled that, now BITS starts well again and now I can also Windows Update again. lol on all that
