I am looking to upgrade my psu in an Acer Aspire xc600. I believe the board is smaller and I will need to get a smaller psu. I am looking to get a decent one that puts out about 500-650w but I don't require the best, just reliable and proficient. I am running into the issue of finding the dimensions that will fit without having to go external. Not even the user manual gives dimensions so I am looking for some assistance with this or the terminology for this type of smaller psu so I can search for it. I am not looking to spend more than 100 dollars.
I am wanting to use a GeForce 8400gs video card. (I already have this)
User Manual - Power Supply -
- • 100~127/200~240 Vac, 220 W non-power factor correction (non PFC) power supply unit
• 200~240 Vac, 220 W power factor correction (PFC) power supply unit
^This is like a foreign language to me.
Thanks.
Let me add, I currently am unable to get sound when I am powering through the above video card so it is currently out of my computer. I have exhausted every avenue to get my sound working. Could my sound not be working because my computer is channeling all the power necessary to run the above gpu and not leaving any for sound? (yes my 200w output can run the geforce 8400gs video card and I can start my game up!)
