Hi everyone, I downloaded windows 8.1 and installed it. Then I discovered there were no windows 8 drivers for my computer model in the manufacturer website. I use a Notebook "Compaq Presario CQ57", How can I find drivers that will work for it? (most especially the WiFi driver from previous installation of windows 7 did not work for it). I have checked Driverpack Solution website, my PC was not listed among their list of PCs.

Can someone please explain to me how to find drivers for a PC if the manufacture doesn't offer drivers for the OS that has been upgraded to.

Here is the official page for Realtek : Realtek

More specifically here is the page for your drivers : Realtek

Click on a server close to you next to : Windows driver auto installation program (support Win8) and here you go.

This is an executable so download and just click on the file once it's done, it should install automatically.

It doesn't matter which one you pick, you'll still get the file. Picking the closest one to you may speed up the download though.

I have finally installed windows 8.1 successfully. Here's what I did. From windows 7, I uninstalled WiFi adapter drivers. Then after some days I installed windows 8.1 and viola it worked. But the WiFi button didn't work, so I turned it off & On manually by clicking the network symbol and clicking the WiFi icon. someother drivers like PCI stuff weren't working, Then I used my "driverpack solution 14" disk to install and update my drivers., Now everything is working well and smooth.
