Hi there,
I am sorry to post a similar thread to what I have already seen on here but my problem is slightly different.
I am using Windows 8 (which I find very unfriendly in itself) but I used to be able to print something by hovering in the bottom right corner of my screen, then clicking on Devices and my printer would show up and away I would go with it. All of a sudden this has now changed and I get the message 'Nothing can be sent from the desktop' with a second screen icon showing underneath. What has happened? Can anyone tell me why I am getting this message please, and where has my printer gone? Thanking you all in advance for any help you can give me :D

That error means that your printer isn't being recognized. I would suggest doing the following troubleshooting steps

-unplugging/plugging back in your printer
-try to do a test print from a word document or something

You may want to wait like 15-20 seconds before you plug the printer back up it's very likely something got "hanged"

Mmmm, it seems my printer is offline although the wifi light is on? It has always worked until now. I have been having trouble with my internet connection, could that be an issue? Sorry to be so thick

Okay so you have a network printer I take it? meaning it connects to your router or whatever and you can print remotely to your printer.

What type of printer do you have? If it's an HP printer there is a tool by HP that fixes most common issues with pritners or at least tells you what the problem is:

Find and Fix Common Printer Problems Using HP Diagnostic Tools for Windows | HP® Support

I'm not too familiar to other printer companies so I am not sure entirely if there are similar printer programs for those companies.

Yes it is a wireless printer. It is a Canon MG3150. I will take a look to see I can find a similar tool for Canon.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me it is much appreciated! These things are brilliant when everything is working properly but once there is a snag it gets so complicated, for me at least.....

YAY! It is fixed! I found a page on Canon, it was something to do with the WPS button on the router, so I just pressed that, followed the online instructions to re-connect the printer and it is all working fine and showing up on my 'Devices' page. I thought it was a PC problem but it was a printer issue as you suggested. Brilliant, thank you!
