i have download win 7 drivers and tried to install in Windows 8 but the mouse dont work, i also tried to browse to drivers and tried the manual installation but it says '' Windows found driver software but encountered a problem installing.

I have a Roccat Kone and because there are no Windows 8 drivers on the Roccat website for my specific model I installed the Windows 8 drivers for the Roccat Kone XTD and it now works. I haven't tested all of the advanced features yet but at least it's no longer a useless brick - the basic functions certainly work and it controls the pointer and can click on things ...

As far as I was able to investigate, the problem is that the latest drivers for Roccat Kone are NOT signed. I even tried to disable the signing enforcement in windows 8, but was not enough.
So, after much trial and failure, simply used the oldest drivers from Roccat support page and after I disconnect and re-connect the mouse it was working! I'm not sure if after that the drivers really updated to 1.41 but the mouse is now working perfectly with the Profiles, DPI switcher and all.

I also had this problem, but I fixed it,
If you still want to know.
Go to the control panel
Press the Programs.
and under the Programs and features. there will be a link called: 'run programs made for previous versions of Windows' ( I don't know if it is this because mine are in Dutch)
Press next,
choose the program (Kova [+] driver)
then choose the second box
If it doesn't hit the first box hit it, and deselect the others.
then choose windows 7.
It should say test the program.
here it should come but mine where very slow so I clicked next.
It should open now.
