Some keys sometimes temporarily not working

Hello to the people of these forums. I am new here, and registered just to ask this question. For now, at least.

I've been having some strange keyboard trouble lately. Hopefully this is the right place to ask. If not, my apologies.

In any case, as the topic title says, some keys on my laptop occasionally stop working for some time, before returning back to normal. Sometimes simply pressing the key several times makes it work, sometimes holding it pressed for ten seconds or so works... Sometimes neither of these works. Occasionally, the key starts working it I press it in rapid succession with a key that does work. For example, pressing I, a non-working key, instantly after pressing J, which works perfectly. Sometimes I simply just randomly press keys on my keyboard until the non-working keys start working again. Backspacing seems to make it easier for them to go back to 'non-working state', although this may be just my imagination.
Oh, and one thing: When any one of the keys that sometimes stop working stops working, none of those keys works. And when one starts working again, all of them start working. Although they may return back to non-working state right away. Although it might be just coincidence, and it doesn't actually work that way.

An incomplete list of the keys that occasionally stop working:
    (Left) Ctrl, I, O, 2, 7.
There are others, I believe, at least one more number, but I have no way to check until they stop working. And at the time of typing this post, they seem to be working strangely well.

Also, the keys are (almost?) always in the 'non-working state' when the laptop wakes from sleep mode and I have to input the password. Luckily, it offers the On-Screen Keyboard option, which, by the way, works perfectly.

So, is there anyone who can make sense out of this strange state of things? I would appreciate any help.

Sound like your USB is resetting. Not sure if your only experiencing this on certain keys could be a defective keyboard
You could go to power options advanced management the set USB Selective suspend to disable

Ah, I forgot to respond to this, it seems like.

Anyway, USB shouldn't have anything to do with it, since it is the built-in keyboard of the laptop. I still tried out the solution you suggested, but it didn't do anything.

I've also had the laptop for a little over a year now, and the problem only started a month or so ago.

Again, I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me some more insight on what the problem might be... It really is quite strange, and can be more than a bit troublesome...

I have a similar issue with my netbook, my five, seven, nine, dash, function 11, escape and right bracket keys don't work! Any ideas, it is a built in keyboard and we've tried disassembling the netbook and reassembling it and also blasting it with an airduster!
