Intel DH77KC motherboard and Windows 8[8.1] network device

I've a DH77KC Intel motherboard. I more than often have to restart my PC or going into the control panel, system and device manager to force windows toscan for hardware changes and then only will the network card connect. According to the windows error for the card, it says this device failed to start up? I un-installed the driver that installs as default when windows is being setup for the first time and installed the latest driver [LAN_Win8.1_64_PROWin_19.1]for the card.

But windows seems not to be using the updated driver from the Intel site and reverts back to using the 2013 driver version: 12.10.28.0. Is there any way I can force windows to use the updated driver, will this solve the problem? Is this a physical fault on the board perhaps? I've tried two new routers [TP-Link & Netgear], thinking that they could be the cause, but to no avail. I do not get the same problem with windows 7 when I installed and tested to see if I faced with the same problem.

Thank you so much in advance for any assistance.

Nick.

The Motherboard has an 82579V Network Adapter. I have one on my ASUS board and one problem it had was being misidentified as an LM instead of V, or vice versa. You might check the Device Manager and see exactly how the card is identified.

Are you offered a choice of different designations when installing the new driver?

I checked and mine is identified as 82579V - nothing about LM. Also, I'm not offered any designations or prompts of any sort during the installation or thereafter. When I run the latest driver from Intel, the installation goes through the regular motion and copying some files, though going too fast for me to recognize what is copied. The problem I'm having occurs in the morning after I turned off my pc for the previous night. Most strange, and the board, although on the market a while already is new as I bough it late in 2013.

Thank you for checking in.

You might check the power management tab on the Properties of the device in Device Manager. See what is checked and you might try different settings. I had a problem with mine waking from sleep, but that might just have been the designation being incorrect.
