Hi

Is it possible to use 32 bit XP drivers on Windows 8.1 X64. These XP drivers are the only ones available for my USB video device which works on the 32 bit Windows 8.1 but they seem to be rejected on the x64 version. Any workarounds or tricks?

Tim

Hi,

I think that Windows has some built-in generic drivers that will work fine for that video capture device.

Can you give me an idea which drivers to use, I have tried the AVC control drivers which install but no access to the video and audio?

Tried the driver but it just crashes any video program that tries to use the driver, any other ideas?

Edit: Ok seem to have it working now after a couple of tries but I get a black screen. Camera setting says signal detected but Video Standard says None and there is no way of changing this to anything else. Any clues?

Thanks for that but I tried both install methods (have disk and setup) and windows said the driver does not contain a x64 based driver from the folder I downloaded.

Unfortunately the package is a setup package and it said Hardeware Detected Code:2 no Happage products detected. I think it has installed the driver but I dont know where to find it, do you know where the driver might be stored?

You can try to uninstall your device in Windows device manager and see if gets auto detected when you plug it in again to your PC if not you can check for INFs in: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\driverFolder

Any idea what the driver folder is called for happauge? I tried removing the USB VideoBus and plugging into another USB port it said installing software for Unknown device. I then checked the camera apps and there is a selectable camera "Microsoft WDM Image Capture" but when I select it it says camera not connected.
