Computer Power Button Does Nothing When Pushed

Last night we had storms in Okla City during which I had an emergency and left home leaving my pc on - which I normally don't do. When I returned home several hours later, my pc was off and the power button was "dead". I checked all the obvious things, like checking the power strip, checking if the power cord was connected, and went to bed thinking "new pc" time (this one is 4 years old). However, this morning, on another pc, I found the video below - how simple it was to fix my pc. I just unplugged the power source at the back of the pc, punched the power button on the front for about 15 seconds, re-plugged the power cord at the back, and walla - when I punched the power button on the front again, the pc booted up! Just wanted to share with other users - considering this is the time of year for storms, lightning, etc. Needless to say, I am a happy camper this morning. Hope it helps someone else

It helps only with dual BIOS features, your BIOS settings got corrupted and that what you did restored original configuration. Standard cure for those, manual for my MB has that solution in troubleshooting section.
