Solved video players

got 3 DVDs today, one working great but the other 2, once I got them, says they are enhanced dvd movies. and it looks like the movies don't work with what came with the OS. here's what it says


I got 2 videos, pitch black and chronicles of Riddick, then when I try to play either one I get this message in the
upper right corner telling me to click to see what happens to enhanced DVDs. when I click on that I get a list pop up. the first thing on that list says: run install.exe publisher not specified. so I click on that and what comes up is

but then it has a message saying it has compatibility issues. do you to install anyway. I clicked the X in the right
upper corner

then a line with the words other "choices"

next: create an image ING don't know what it is so I did not touch it.

next: play DVD video power DVD. ok, I always use this. but it's not working for these videos.

then: there was "play DVD video GOM player". but it says sound not installed properly. and it had an upgrade which I installed, but still no luck, the video's will not play

then: open folder to view files. that aint gonna play the video.

and last: take no action

so far nothing has worked. anybody have any ideas?

Many here poo-poo codec packs but I have always used them. I have very few problems.

I am one of those who hates codec packs. They are nothing but trouble. Popeye was just lucky. Use VLC instead.

Only answer to that is Windows codec support sucks, seriously.

There I agree with you. If you must have a codec pack, take the one from Shark007. He is the only person I know who does that well.

I have to agree with popeye, I use codec packs. Never had any issues with them.

If you are going to use codecs, Shark007 is the best option
