Should I buy a Lenovo Mixx 2 or Surface RT (both 64gb)?

For my birthday I got some money that I've decided to use to get a Windows tablet. But I'm not entirely sure which one I should get, or if I should just buy a bunch of games for my 3DS and Wii U.

My two options are:

8" Lenovo Mixx 2 (64gb) or equivalent
10" Surface RT (64gb) first gen.

Both are $299 at Best Buy at the moment (with the Mixx going up on the 10th and the RT on the 24th). I currently have a laptop (Acer V5-571G with 128GB SSD and Windows 8.1 Pro) that I'm using as a daily driver. I don't have a proper desktop, but eventually I want to get one.

With the Lenovo I would be primarily use it as a secondary system where otherwise I'd be fiddling around on my phone, but if push comes to shove it can do everything my laptop can go except midrange games and hdmi output (I wanted the Acer W4 for it's HDMI out and dedicated power port, but it's only available in the USA).

The Surface, with its full sized HDMI and usb ports, can theoretically replace my laptop (and I'd get a desktop eventually for gaming). Problem is it's RT-only, so the only apps I can install are from the limited selection of the Windows Store. that means no K-Lite codec pack and no MKV or Subtitle support. I was looking at Modern media Player, but there's no trial and no reviews. Plus no Firefox, but I most likely wouldn't be able to use it much on the smaller tablet anyways.

Any of you have any useful advice? thanks.

How about this one ASUS Transformer Book T100TA B1 GR Convertible Laptop Computer With 101 Touch Screen Display MS Office Home Student 2013 32GB by Office Depot. I have it since 2 months. It is a fantastic little machine. I would have preferred a Windows 7 version but I can deal with 8.1.

:ditto:

I had the chance to play around with one of these tablets for a few days and I have to same I'm impressed. ASUS didn't bloat it up with crapware at all really, and for $350 dollars (you might find a sale somewhere for $300ish, a friend of mine bought one a few months ago from walmart) with an Intel x86 Atom processor, included keyboard dock, and very impressive speakers for such a small tablet; I'd go with that. The only thing I have against it is no battery in the keyboard, no stylus, and it could use a piece of double sided sticky tape in the middle part of the back side of the tablet. But I pick at details like that. :p

Windows 8.1 is perfect on this, Windows 7 would be too slow and icky. ;)
