Solved USB Device not recognised

Hello,

Recently my "PS to PC Converter" USB device, as shown in image was not recognized by my laptop. It was working fine as of yesterday, where I was playing FIFA with my friend. Then today when I plug it in, it says USB device not recognized even though I can still on the analog but the controller is not detected by the game. Other games that I use to play with controllers are also not detecting the device. I kept reinstalling the driver but still the same message. Restarting computer, turning it off for a few minutes did not solve my problem too. I'm pretty sure my USB ports are fine as my mouse, keyboard and hard drives are working in all of the USB ports.

Need help here, will buying another one will solve the issue or my laptop got problem?

EDIT: I check the Device Manager and found a yellow exclamation mark on Other Devices named "Unknown device", I check the properties and says Code 43 on the status. I Enable/Disable it, still the same message.

Didn't work. Still the same. I want the device to be installed like the first time it is being plugged in.

If the system restore did not work (as suggested by DustSailor) and you have done nothing else of major significance to you rig (since yesterday), there is a strong possibility that your PS-to-PC Converter just went bad. However, there is no way to actually confirm that from afar. So, can you try it on a friend's PC to see if it might work elsewhere? If not, you may have to just take a chance on buying a new one. Good luck with your decision from here.

Yes, hopefully that will help prove where the problem lies.

I was going to suggest reinstalling, or rather installing the newest driver for the chipset. It can't hurt, and worth a try if it does end up working on her computer. My theory would be something changed on your computer, but it could be that the cable went bad. It just doesn't happen often, that I've encountered.

I think this is solved. The "PS to PC Converter" usb cable was the issue, the same message appears on 2 of my sister's laptop. Buying another one then.
