I'm looking to build a new gaming system in the next few weeks and I was wondering if it would be worth it to completely bypass the i5 and just go with the i7 or is the i5 fairly capable of running today's latest and greatest games on high settings?
I understand that the i7 has hyper threading technology, but I'm not sure how much this would really benefit.
Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Currently running on an core i5 2500k and able to play BF4 and Ghosts with no hickups.Since you are going for the 4570,you should be doing just fine.My processor handled a GTX 670 the other day and performed great.Unless you are in the overclocking business (it is stated that Haswells dont OC very easy or well) or do not need the i7 for video rendering and heavy conversions. That said, you could go for the i5 and save the difference for any other upgrade.Cheers!
