My Local disk D and E disappeared

its been 2 hours since this problem occured. i started my laptop and saw that some icons were white, when i clicked on the icon it says "The drive or network connection that the shortcut Counter-Strike.lnk refers to is unavailable.

Help me please i have very important data in these drives

This is the error i get when i try to change drive letter

i even refresh it, reboot the system but still same error

Was there anything that you did right before this happened?

Install new Intel RST drivers, chipset drivers, etc....

no, i didn't do anything special before that.. i just reboot the system like i normally do and after the reboot this problem occured

As a test, use step 5 in the same tutorial above to remove all drive letters for /DosDevices\(drive letter) except the on for C:, then restart the PC to see if it may assign letters to the partitions again.

If not, then you might see if you may be able to connect the hard drive to another PC to hopefully be able to back up the contents of these two partitions to be safe in case you may need to format them.

Is there a possibility that my Local Disk D and E are corrupted ? or have been got locked accidently ?

I'm hoping that corruption is not the case. If so, it may require formatting to fix.

Did you have any luck using Partition Wizard on them?
