I have just purchased a Surface 2 and am amazed that someone at Microsoft has decided I want to be logged into Skype 24/7 I know I can turn app of But I want to log out so that my stuff is private .
Other famiy members want to use it and they cant without setting up Microsoft Acc .
I believe ths is a serious problem with windows 8 and has to be sorted.
Id love to know the thinking behind this.:mad:

Why not create a local account for the users that don't want/use an MS account? By the way, I don't like the way Skype is implemented on the Surface either. I ended up uninstalling it. I didn't want it active every time I touched my Surface.

That is an option but why should I have to work round an obvious Microsoft / Skype problem Its a very simple fix just allow your customers to log in and out then I can give it to anyone one they log into their own acc and chat away.
I dont want other user accounts on there because you have to have microsoft acc its crazy !

I gave up Skype when I switched to Windows 8.1, the alternative program syncDriver for SkyDrive somewhat makes up for the loss of SkyDrive on the Desktop however syncDriver is still new in it's development and currently does not support ARM devices with Windows RT and requires a service running at all times even if you've not loaded the program to sync with your SkyDrive account (small annoyance); for now I'm just using SkyDrive via web browser online when I need to.

I totally agree with you. Just allowing a user to log out of Skype would fix the issue. I was just trying to offer you a work around.

Thank you but I did not understand one word of that
I dont want to install this or uninstall that ....I just want a simple communication prog ,like Skype, that I can sign in and out of then hand tablet of to family member who can call their friend for a chat Surely not asking a lot is it?
Why reinvent the wheel ?
For this reason alone I have already told several of my friends not to buy surface2.

Im wondering is this major privacy issue is applicable to all windows 8 loaded machines?
