Hello there,
basically, i cannot load into windows when i attach my third hard drive to the computer, I have disabled automatic startup via the command prompt, but it still will not boot,
My main hard drives are 2x Western Digital Blue 1TB in RAID 0
and the hard drive that fails to work with the blues is a Western Digital Cavier Green 1TB

**NOTE**

Windows is update to date, as is the BIOS, and all settings are default for now. I have been able to access this hard drive before until one day it decided it needed to scan the drive for errors on Bootup and begun and endless loop of repairs and after 18 hours i decided to unplug it.
no windows files are on the Cavier green, except personal files which i would like to retrieve!!!

I hope someone can help me, as this is quite frustrating

Thankyou in advanced

Hello Orblitzer,

It sounds like the Western Digital Cavier Green 1TB is dead or close to it.

If you already have Windows running and then connect the drive, does Windows recognize it to be able to try and copy files from it?

Another option would be to create a Live Peppermint3 DVD/USB to boot from to try and recovery files from the HDD.
If you have not already, after doing the above, you might scan the HDD with Data Lifeguard Diagnostic to see if it passes or fails. If it fails, then the drive is dead.

WD Support / Downloads / My Cloud Apps + Other Products / Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn

Hello Orblitzer,

If you haven't already, I would recommend to test the HDD again just to make sure that it passes.
