    This one doesn't require a server license Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 | Virtualization | VDI so if you had the standard 2 licenses that come with server you could either use one to run Hyper V and have one VM or use this and run 2 VMs. I did look briefly into licensing but as it doesn't apply to me and looks rather complex I didn't pursue it.

    i personally don't think using the core is smart for your setup
    Yeah, I'm beginning to think so also. It seemed a nice idea but doesn't seem to be practical.

    you could try the non core for like 30 days and then i think you can rearm it to 120 days. might be enough to learn it?
