Solved AutoRun/AutoPlay tile
I have a thumb drive that I regularly plug in and out of the front of my tower using the same USB port. The drive has an assigned letter.
Plugging it in is no problem. It is detected fine and I have AutoPlay set to do nothing. I do not desire to use the AutoRun/AutoPlay on the desktop taskbar to unplug it. Is there anyway I can create a tile on the Start Screen to do so? I would imagine I have to pin some executable there?

Hey Tony,
Are you referring to
Safely Remove Hardware ? If so, you could "Pin to Start" the shortcut below for it, but it'll still open to your desktop though.
If you have
write caching disable on the USB drive (should be by default), then you should be able to just disconnect it when you like without having to use the above as long as you are not in the middle of saving anything to it.

I have never ever in years had any problems after just pulling the things out. Good point about caching though.

Thank you, Shawn. Yes, referring to Safely Remove Hardware. I thought that was all a part of Plug and Play? Does not AutoPlay have something to do with that?
I will check out the caching disabling when I get to my PC later on. I'm sure that will do the trick.

"
Plug and Play " is basically allows you to connect and forget the device by allowing it to be automatically configured in Windows. Part of this does involve
Hot Swapping support to be able to disconnect removable devices without having to use Safely Remove Hardware, but it doesn't hurt to make sure before doing so though.
AutoPlay has more to do with what action you want performed when you connect the device.
