Hello all.
I'm having some trouble figuring out why Windows 8 is not letting this HP 2000-2b09WM laptop have any audio. I've checked in the Device Manager and it has the legitimate driver from HP.com, but it's showing a red X on the speaker icon and when I hover over, it says: "No Audio Output Device is installed".
The current devices I have under 'Sound, video and game controllers" are:
I have tried deleting both drivers, and installed the correct ones from HP, but it always has code 52 once I restart. I disabled signature checking and the laptop did start with audio, but when I went to restart it, it lost audio again. I just did a scan with Malwarebytes which picked up a bunch of viruses, but it still has this issue.
Edit: It says it has 91MB worth of updates from Windows Update. I'm going to update them and see if anything changes.
