First Person Shooter games for Tablet PC?

I'm looking for a list of first person shooter games that work on a tablet PC. Here I am assuming it's not a Surface 2 that has restrictions on the applications you can install or that these games can work with a surface 2 windows 8.1 RT.

I'd like both single player and multiplayer games.

I know android and i phone's now have FPS games.. it seems to me Microsoft shot itself in the foot by not having FPS games for a windows tablet PC.. or at least I cannot find much info about them if there are some. Everybody knows windows gaming is best so I cannot understand this downfall of microsoft.

I'm thinking older games should work like first person shooters that are 10 years old or small indie FPS games.

Anyone know of any?

No one is answering.. to me this indicates not many people use tablets for gaming. I suppose there are not enough tab;lets that are powerful enough to be popular for gaming.

The tablet I'm looking at is a full laptop / tablet hybrid with great specs for a cheap price, the Asus Transformer book T300. This thing is a full laptop with detachable touch screen tablet.

This thing uses the i3, i5 or i7 cpu, 8 gigabytes of ddr3 ram with 256 gb ssd HD and Intel HD 4400 graphics. Awesome for a tablet because they claim the 4000 models graphics can play all these games. ( the Asus site says the laptop is good for light gaming.. I assune these games will only be playable on low or at highest, medium settings - which is still awesome for a tablet.

Thats pretty awesome for a tablet but I don't know how realistic that is.. Cant even ask folks on the Asus forums because the T300 isn't out yet.

I have a Surface Pro
the most I have played so far is Minecraft
I will load steam and see how Skyrim plays. I don't expect it will play at full graphics.
May give Boarderlands 2 a try. It will be a couple of days before i get to this.

On the very lowest settings, but no tweaks made to ini's or anything...
There might be a way to improve it,, but it's not worth it for me to try, I play these kind of games on my Desktop Rig.

Ok,, Skyrim plays,, but I would not call it playable.
Very sluggish and the sense you are being held back.
then there are times of real choppiness during battles
it's not a great experience. But I didn't expect it to be.
Some older games with a bit lower graphic requirements should play fine.

Couple of days ago my friend with the new Surface 2 pro ( he upgraded from Surface 2 only after a couple of days because of all it's restrictions) installed Modern Warfare 3.

We tested it with normal settings and it ran fine. Next we maxed out all of MW3's settings. It still played like a champ at great frame rate. While it was running to our shock ( we were forcing the tablet to use all of it's resources to give it a really good test) - we were able to record a video, and play two different youtube videos at the same time.. left it run like this for an hour with no slowdowns to the Modern warfare 3 game.

The underside of the unit did get pretty warm but seemed to be o.k. We were very impressed..

BUT.. now my pal hates the Surface 2 pro - why.. no storage space to speak of at this time. He did not know, nor did i at the time that Microsoft would be coming out with devices with larger storage space and larger ram in December.

None of the surface models can be upgraded internally at all. If you need more storage space and ram, you'll just have to take your unit back and pay the higher price once December comes. This is a serious drawback to us.. I don't know.. perhaps all tablets are like this but somehow i doubt it.

He should have waited. Now he has to try juggle storage space between the 64 gig SSD drive inside the unit, a 64 gig flash drive, a 64 gig micro SD card. - Only the 64 gig SSD and the 64 gig Micro SD card came with the unit - he owned a 64 gig flash drive already.

He can op to add an external 3.0 USB hub to extend the single USB ports functionality and get a 256 gig SSD to use through the 3.0 USB.. and for more long term storage, get a mechanical 1 TB external drive.. also through the 3.0 USB..

it's a ton of money to spend for such storage - and this toy has already cost him 1100 bucks.

I'd say dont buy this thing now.. wait till Dec and hope you can afford it.. or better yet.. wait a whole year and perhaps the prices of all these things will do down.

Hi Dark Rider,

I don't want to say 'told you so' or something like that. I'm just trying to give you some advice here.

Perhaps it would be wise If, in the future, you and your friend would do some research before buying anything. You see, it was well known at the launch of the Surface 2 series (back in september) that there were four different configurations for the Pro version. Namely the 64 en 128 GB SSD version with each 4 GB ram. And the 256 and 512 GB SSD version with each 8 GB ram.

After the official sale began, last week Monday, it was clearly visible on the special Microsoft Surface website that there are four different Pro configurations.

So my friend. To help you for the future. Perhaps it would be best to do some basic research first before buying anything. That will prevent disappointments like the one your friend is having now with the 64 GB version.

Good luck with it and I hope you can 'trade in' the 64 GB version when buying one with a larger SSD capacity (or perhaps you can sell it for a nice price on Amazon or something like that).

Greetz,

Rover

I also own the following Microsoft devices:
    * Surface Pro 2 128 GB
    * Windows Phone HTC 8X
Well the way it happened my friend came over and said, " go with me to best buy, i'm going to buy a surface tablet" i simply said O.k. and went thinking he knew what he wanted to get. Till this time I had not known we were going to go nor that we should have done anymore research than he had already done.

Not being a tablet person or even owning a smart phone I naturally didn't know anything at the time.. he was determined to not leave the store empty handed. If i would have had time and an inclination that they were coming out with other products, i'd have researched it before hand for my friend.. ( he's not used to googling stuff he's an xbox over wifi user) So now to help my friend out, i'm playing catch up on the research.

I'm sure there are tons of folks that had no clue because unlike you, there were not keeping up.. and why should they unless they were already thinking of getting such a product..
