I luv how these guys come on here bashing the Surface and say how there is better tablets out there and then try to find something that even comes close to it and FAIL... the OP posts has so much fail it's sad. there is no restrictions on the PRO at all, it does everything an ultrabook does! there is TONS of youtube vids that show how well it can handle some pretty good games and apps out there! so please keep your misguided opinions to yourself! I have the RT and it is the BEST tablet out there and I do everything I want except install legacy apps, and if I have to use legacy app all I have to do is connect to my desktop via splashtop or remote desktop and I can do some photoshop or whatever on my Surface RT... the Surface is 90% computer! so please keep your BS remarks to yourself, thanks! Now as for finding other tablets with windows 8 full there is a few out there like the Acer w5, Asus and Toshiba which all almost cost as much as the Surface pro! the only thing is the Surface Pro is a little over priced and the most expensive out of all the tablets. which sucks cuzz I think they would do much better sales!
I took the quote " The Transformer Book T300 is due out in late October with prices starting at $349." form here: Asus introduces the $349 Transformer Book T100 convertible tablet with Bay Trail - Liliputing
I suppose they were mistaken.
Beman36 - I'll spread my misguided opinions anywhere I like thank you. It's both to your benefit and mine. If i am mistaken, i'll correct. I was on a fact finding mission for info based on my limited experience with the surface tablets. NO BS here cept the stuff you are putting on me.
You are assigning me a task for which i did not do, especially not with the slant you think i'm putting on it. You can take your BS out of MY thread thank you.
Besides, have you been following my other related threads on this topic?
I can understand the point that people don't want to spend $899 on a tablet because they don't need that much hardware. Or, they can get a cheap laptop to do "what they need", for a more affordable price. Both of those are fair assessments. It may not be the right tool for the job.
I have a 128GB Surface Pro. For what it is, it's an awesome little piece of hardware. With that said, I rarely use it. I much prefer the 14" screen of my Dell Latitude 6430u, and I prefer the full size trackbad on my 6430u. In my case, the 6430u was about $1500, so more expensive then the Surface Pro, but it's got a 256GB mSATA SSD, 16GB of RAM and a Core i7 CPU. It has USB3 and eSATA ports which work out great for me as I run lots of VM's on my laptop. But no matter who much I like my laptop, that doesn't mean the Surface Pro 2 is overpriced.
Now if the surface pro had a 500gig HD with 6 gigs of ram like a laptop does, then I might consider purchasing it for $899, at least I feel I am getting my money worth
IMHO the Surface Pro 2 is the price of €990 worth. Although I still don't know why I have to pay $1300 for it when you guys can get it for $990.
