SXUPTP Problem Since 8.1 Upgrade

Sorry if I've posted in the wrong section, I'm new to the site.

I'm having a problem with my Belkin USB hub which is plugged into my router.
Since the 8.1 update, in device manager there is an exclamation against SXUPTP Driver and although my disk drive connected to the hub is visible, it refuses to connect because of this driver.

The Device Status says;
The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

I've tried re-installing but no use.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi the shad,

Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver.

The advice in the error message is clear that a new driver is required.

I've tried re-installing but no use.

Based on the previous notification, I doubt that reinstalling the same driver will fix your issue.

Good luck.

I know a new driver is needed, but I can't find one that seems to work.

OK, since you failed to mention that you did a search for a new driver in your original post, I thought my response was appropriate. Moreover, since you did not specifically identify the exact model of the hardware requiring this new driver, in either your first or second post, no one will be able to help you find it either.
Good luck.

As a new user to this site, and with very (virtually none) experience in this matter I was not aware of what information would be required in order to identify the problem, however, I didn't expect to receive such short, sharp comments. A little guidance would have been nice, even just to point me in the right direction of what is needed in order to locate the problem.
