My refurbished desktop didn't come with a wifi card...

So I ordered a Sabrent High Power USB Wireless 802.11n Adapter in hopes that it would give me wifi capabilities

After looking at the reviews I realized that this might not actually make my computer able to get wifi... There's more info on the product here: Newegg.com - Sabrent High-Power 1000mW Long Range WiFi Wireless USB Range Extender With Detachable 6dBi Dipole Antenna!

So I just wanted to ask if this would give my computer wifi or not.

So I looked up the NT-WGHU specs and I see two possible issues:

1- It is not 802.11n capable, it only support 802.11G (and possibly B)
2- I do not see where Windows 8 is supported (only up to Win 7)

Oh, and of course, this is intended to work with your existing wireless router.

Sorry what I'm trying to say is that my new desktop computer has absolutely no wifi capabilities, and this product seems to just be a wifi extender. Suppose everything is compatible, would this Sabrent device give my computer wifi capability? I can't tell if this product just extends wifi range or gives my computer wifi.

And in case you're wondering, I have a router and everything. That's what this laptop I'm posting from is connected to.

I have never used it personally but if you download the users guide and read it, that guide indicates you can use it in place of an internal wifi card so it appears to be more than just a range extender. Also, see my 2nd post underlined in red. More importantly, did you read my Win 8 compatibility warning? However, if you are looking for someone who is actively using this on Win 8, then I am not that person. Good luck to you.
