Solved Windows 8 and iPod Classic

I've searched the forums but haven't found a solution for my problem. When I switched to a Windows 8 laptop from my MacBook, my iPod Classic is not recognized by the Win 8 machine. I've tried to copy and paste music files from the HD to the iPod, but once the iPod is ejected, no music shows up on the iPod. I've downloaded iTunes, which seems to recognize when the iPod is plugged in, but I haven't been able to move any music from the HD to the iPod. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its not a problem with the iPod, as I have an older iPod and have no problems syncing with iTunes.

I don't have a fix for you, but just to note that my older iPod (and iPhone5) works OK with Win 8 64 bit.

Make sure and have a backup of everything then try resetting/reformat it from the win 8 computer? Just a guess.

I wouldn't go to the drastic step of a reinstall.

I was talking about resetting/reformatting the ipod, not the computer just to be clear.

Is your new copy of iTunes properly activated, or authorized...whatever Apple calls their restrictions?

iTunes was downloaded from the Apple web site.

I got the iPod/Win 8 interface to work, once I figured out how to move my music files into iTunes.
