Win 8x64 desktop, two printers (Brother, Canon) connected with USB cables, no network, not part of home group. Both print ok.

I just did an in-place Win 8 repair, followed by adding the updates. Since the first set of updates, there have been eight PrintService errors (215) in Admin Events at startup. Where do I do to fix this? Thanks,

Here are some examples and screenshots:

- Installing printer driver Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver failed, error code 0x0, HRESULT 0x80070661.

- Installing printer driver Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver failed, error code 0x661, HRESULT 0x80070661.
- Installing printer driver - failed, error code 0xBC8, HRESULT 0x80070BC8.

Does your printer configuration actually work? If so, you might just want to ignore that warning; especially if your printers are older models. Here's why I am making that recommendation. I have an older HP 1020 model and everything works perfectly, except for the fact that I get a Print Spooler error every time I print a document. Now, since this model is ending its end of life expectancy, I can only assume that HP did not provide due diligence in all areas of concern when attempting to issue a new driver for Windows 8. In fact, their only encouragement to do so may have been to avoid customer complaints; however, I do expect them to totally abandon support for this printer very soon. With that said, your best course of action just might be to ignore it (like I'm doing); otherwise, I think your problem is clearly a driver compatibility issue with Win 8.
Good luck.

Thanks. Until a year or two ago, I had an HP4M and would sometimes see the spooler error message. It turned out to be like going to the car mechanic, where as soon as I posted here, about three reboots after finishing all the updates, the PrintService errors disappeared.

Thanks for that. No such luck here and I really don't care about the event log as long as the printer continues to work perfectly. So, does your configuration work without issues (other than the error)?
