Windows 8 does not have a print driver for an older HP 4050n printer. I tried the universal driver but it didn't work.
First: it is a network printer and it works on all my other computer. When I run the printer setup and select add printer it does not fine and printers so I need to tell it that it is a tcp/ip printer and give it a ip address (192.168.1.103) it is a static address. It also does not fine the network card which is a HP jet direct I believe. It is in the printer. I have tried a number of drivers but have not gotten one to work yet. The funny part is I can ping the ip address with no problem, so why can't windows find it. By the way Windows 7 and Widows XP and Windows Vista does not have a problem with this printer.
