New to windows 8 - just got MS surface pro-give some tips

Hello,
I've just purchased microsift surface pro.
I've not used windows 8 til now..

let me know good apps, websites, and all other things to do with MS surface pro and windows 8.

how to make backup/system image to restore windows 8/tablet as fresh in future if anything happens??

Top 20 Metro Apps for Windows 8

Hello and welcome to Windows 8!

Firstly, pin the relevant Desktop items you need to the Start Screen. This can be folders, apps, programs, libraries, Control Panel sub-sections, ect. On the Desktop, you right click (or press and hold until a square shows) and hit Pin to Start. At the Start Screen in All Apps (swipe from the top to show the app bar, All Apps is in the bottom corner) you can flick down on some items there like Calculator, Speech Recognition, or Computer. Just move the tiles around on the Start Screen to your pleasing.

Uninstall the apps you don't want, just flick down on the app tile, hit Uninstall, and Uninstall again.

Install Decor8.



The apps I'd suggest that are pretty neat are OneNote MX (for note taking), Film Closet if you're really into movies, Metrotube if you go on youtube a lot, Bing News, Weather and Finance apps. Music Info is also a real neat music player I like as well.

Also, the Surface tablets already have a recovery partition built into the storage drive to recovery Windows.

wasn't a fan of Metrotube at all. I think both Youtube+ and PrimeTube are better.

also, make sure you update your apps regularly. when you buy a PC from the store or get Windows 8, you get the original version of the apps like the base apps like Weather, Finance, Mail, etc. You'll need to update the apps to the latest version through the Windows Store, no matter how new your PC is.
