First of all here is an Cnet Archive link for your computer that has detailed specifications on the right hand side of the page, you will have to scroll down slightly to see them and according to that info you have a Intel 915GV Express Chipset. But to be absolutely sure you can follow this tutorial from Windows Seven Forum to accurately detect hardware and use the info to update your system specs here at Eight Forums.

Are you trying to run these drivers with Win 8 (Windows Developer Preview) if so the installer has to be run in compatibility mode

Then Choose Windows 7 as OS and run as an administrator.
I ran
the driver in windows xp compatibility and it installs it and then trys using it for my card and says "Unknown error has occured" and stops and doesn't complete. However the driver is installed and if i try picking it from device manager, It says the driver doesn't support this version of windows or something.
And if i do windows 7 compatibility it says unsupported os when i run the install.

I had the same OS not supported message when I tried to Install an Intel LAN driver and my version of Intel chipset drivers but the Windows 7 compatibility mode run as Administrator solution seemed to work for me.

Sorry I did not properly insert the link detailing your computer specifications the first time for the Cnet Archive link for your computer so

Your computer specs - click me (If that indeed is your computer model which is listed in your system specs)

And here is a partial list with your chipset highlighted which is different than the one you have installed - Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family Driver

Specs 1.PNG

Please go to device manager and uninstall the driver you have installed in XP compatability mode and reboot if prompted and download the latest chipset drivers from Intel which has an automatic driver update utility found Here then click on the " Run Intel Driver Update Utility" button.

Download the recommended driver installer to the desktop and do not install from within device manager.

Instead run from the downloaded installer and try installing again as administrator in widows 7 compatibility mode.

Screenshots below are correctly configured to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode before attempting installation.
