Hey everyone,

So I just recently installed the Windows 8 Developer's Preview x64 in my custom build PC. When I first tried to boot into it, I got the new BSoD with the error code "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (atikmpag.sys)". As a first shot, I removed my ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card and tried to boot into Win8 again using my ATI Radeon HD 4200 mobo integrated graphics and it worked perfectly. When I got into Win8 I installed all the drivers and updates for all my working hardware and my 5770 including the latest version of Catalyst. When I tried to reboot with my 5770 back in, I got the same BSoD. Just in case it was a hardware issue, I booted into Win7 x64 Ultimate on a different hard drive and both video cards were working perfectly as they did before I had Win8.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks,
Vinay

Have you tried installing the latest win7 drivers in compatibility mode for win7? I had to use compatibility mode to install security essentials.

Thanks! I did that and I also rolled back my drivers to Catalyst 11.4 because of some suggestions in other threads. So I got everything working now!
