Hello,

I got a new internal PSU for my recently custom-built PC. The only thing I know is its wattage, 800W. I am now giving some thought to adding a UPS so that I can protect my PC, and all its devices, from a sudden power loss. The UPS in question is a
Sweex PP200 of 350W. Is there any inconvenient that should prevent me from making use of it?

giving that the main reason for using a UPS is to keep the computer running so you don't loose work you are doing at the time of the failure ,and you can then you can properly shut it down after a power failure , the pp200 350w should be fine ,good luck

I see that the Sweex PP200 is rated at 650VA/ 360W. I thought that it might be a 350VA unit, with a much lower rating for a resistive load.

I suppose that your PC and monitor together won't draw more than the 360W limit. You could verify it using one of the devices that plug in between the PC and the mains, I suppose.

The system in my specs only draws 125 watts and that includes my LED monitor, Cable Modem, Router, Voice Modem and Phone system. I have a APC 750 UPS (750 v/a and 450 watts) and my run time on battery is 14 min. So you should be OK with yours.
