Hi,

Is there an application that anables user to create multitouch gestures like in Mac OS? I used Mac for some time and found it useful to be able to switchin programmes swiping four fingers or switch tabs in firefox by rotating gesture. There are applications like Multiclutch for Mac with wich you can manage many custom gestures and now I'm looking for something simillar for Windows but cannot find anything.

Thanks for any info!

that would be very cool. usually this is done by the device makers like Synaptic or Elan or whoever your manufacturer is.

Windows 8 already has the option to change apps by swiping. swipe from the left edge toward the middle. here's where the difference between touch and a trackpad goes (as least in my experience): with a trackpad, you can edge swipe to change apps but you can't bring up the list of running apps by swiping in and then back out. with a touchscreen, you can bring up the running list by swiping in and out. and of course, with a touchscreen, you can edge swipe between your apps.

and unfortunately, from what I can see, you can't swipe between multiple desktop programs. the desktop is treated like a Modern app and all the desktop programs are within that app. so if you have 3 Modern apps running and 3 desktop programs running, you can swipe between 4 apps (the 3 Modern and the 1 desktop).

also rotation is already built in. it's up to the software app to take advantage of it. Mozilla says that touch features are being added to Firefox which I hope comes up soon. FF is my favorite (Chrome has fallen to second for me because of glitches lately). But Modern/Immersive/Metro IE10 is still by far the best touch browser. Chrome has zero support. FF is really slow for touch.

and check out what your manufacturer supports in terms of gestures. I have a Lenovo TouchPad which supports the following:
