I've started getting the message Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center has Stopped Working (see error report below) when Windows 8 starts. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of the Mouse & Keyboard Center but still have the same problem. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Hi Steve C,

Have you tried just leaving the software uninstalled and; thereafter, is your keyboard and mouse properly recognized and useable?

Yes, the mouse and keyboard work fine with the Mouse & Keyboard Center installed. It would be useful to have the extra features though.

I ran sfc /scannow which found an error but the problem remains, I created another administrator account and Mouse & Keyboard Center works. It seems there is something in my main administrator account which prevents the program running. Can I repair my user profile?

Hi Steve C,

I can't think of any reason why that would happen so I'm bowing out to make room for someone else to continue assisting you. Good luck.

I solved this by doing a system restore to 2 days ago. I then couldn't uninstall the MS Mouse & Keyboard Center and had to run a MS Fixit program to remove it. I was then able to re-install the latest version of the MS Mouse & Keyboard Center and it works for all users!
