Hello, I was going to buy a power supply and I found this power supply. Will the 24 pin connector work with my 20+4 pin motherboard? The other power supply I might get is here. Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,
-Rick

I'm unfamiliar with a "20+4 pin motherboard". Old motherboards use 20 pin ATX power connectors. Newer, 24 pin. 20+4 pin power supplies are designed to be compatible with both. (With a 20 pin motherboard, you separate the additional 4 pin block from the PSU cable, and don't connect it.) It's also possible to plug a 20 pin cable into a 24 pin motherboard, but it may not supply enough power. I once had a 24 pin only PSU that came with an in-line adapter to plug into a 20 pin motherboard.

There are also 4 and 8 pin 12V connectors for the CPU. Some PSUs have only 4 pin connectors, some 4 and 8 pin, and some 4+4 that can be used with either. The 4 pin resembles the 4 pin block that can be separated form the 20+4 pin connector, but I believe they are not the same.

I hope that's clear.
